Fairchild, Ditzler earn Northwest scholarships

Malina Fairchild and Marie Ditzler, both seniors at Huntington North High School, have each been awarded a $500 scholarship by the Northwest Elementary School PTO.

Fairchild, the daughter of Mark and Darlene Fairchild, attended Northwest Elementary School for five years.

At HNHS, she participated in Jazz Band, Pep Band, track and field, tennis, Art Club, Camera Club and Drama Club. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has worked on the school office and served as a math tutor.

Fairchild plans to study linguistics at Huntington University.

Ditzler, the daughter of Jim and Gina Ditzler, attended Northwest Elementary School from 2000 to 2006.

At HNHS, she participated in cross country and track and field and was a member of National Honor Society and Student Athletic Board. She also served as an algebra tutor.

Ditzler plans to study nursing at Huntington University.
