Thursday, March 28, 2013 7:33 AM
House Bill 1457, authored by State Representative Dan Leonard (R-Huntington), passed out of the Senate with a 34 to 14 vote.
The bill deals with unemployment insurance.
It makes changes in order to comply with federal regulations. Individuals receiving unemploy- ment benefits will now be required to participate in re-employment and eligibility assessment activities as directed by the Department of Workforce Development.
In an effort to assist those looking for work, www.Indianacareerconnect.com has nearly 100,000 jobs available for Hoosiers.
HB 1457 will now be sent to Gov. Mike Pence for his signature.
