HN business students to compete

Huntington students Tyler Korthal, Alexis Ireland and Zach Prather are eligible to compete in the national Business Professionals of America competition May 8-12 in Orlando, FL.

The three local students were among 10 students from Vickie Houlihan's networking fundamentals class at the Heartland Career Center, Wabash, who attended the Indiana State Leadership Conference for Business Professionals of America March 10-12 in Indianapolis.

Their performance at the state conference made them eligible for the national event.

Prior to the state conference, Ireland was awarded a $6,000 scholarship in the information technology concepts category from the University of Northern Ohio.

Business Professionals of America is an organization for career and technical students with a goal of developing leadership, academic, and technological skills in the workplace.
