Huntington County Commissioner President Leon Hurlburt (left), Commissioner Larry Buzzard (right) and Commissioner Tom Wall (back row) presented awards to a group of men who were instrumental in saving the life of Michael Gosnell after Gosnell fell through the ice on a pond along Simpson Road on Jan. 3. Honored for their heroism in making the rescue were (from left, beginning second from left) Jim Koon, who was ice fishing with Gosnell; Conservation Officer Mark Johnston; Gosnell; and Mike Grant, Rick Asher and Duane Brumbaugh, all members of Markle Fire and Rescue. The award was presented on Monday, Feb. 25.
