The Journal of the American Dental Association paid tribute to its founding editor, Huntington dentist Otto U. King, in an article published in the journal.

King, a Huntington native, joined the National Dental Association, the predecessor of the American Dental Association, after graduating from Northwestern University Dental School in 1897. He became the organization's executive secretary in 1913 and launched the Official Bulletin, which would become the Journal of the American Dental Association.

King, who died in 1951, maintained a private practice in Huntington until moving to Chicago, IL, in 1917 to work full time for the dental association until his retirement in 1927.
