Mike Ayers (center), a member of the Roanoke Tractor Pullers Association, presents a $5,000 check from the association to Celia Bandelier (right), director of the Roanoke Public Library, and John Stoeckley, president of the library's board of trustees. The gift will help fund the refurbishing of the library's existing oak bookshelves and the construction of additional oak bookshelves. Both the existing and new shelves will be used in the library's new location in downtown Roanoke. Books will be moved to the new building on March 2, and volunteers willing to be a part of the moving brigade are asked to call the library at 672-2989.
