Twenty-one members of the Riverview Raiders Band were selected for and participated in the Three Rivers Honor Band held at IPFW on Jan. 24, 25 and 26.

The Honor Band is an 85-member ensemble selected by audition from over 35 middle schools in Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio. This year, 23 schools were represented.

The students attended rehearsals Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning at IPFW's Rhinehart Music Center. The band presented a concert Saturday afternoon of appropriately challenging music. The clinician leading this year's ensemble was Michael Madonia, from the Chicago area.

Honor Band players were selected from a recorded audition by faculty members of IPFW music department.

Director of the Riverview Bands James Court stated, "I'm very proud of our kids and the focused approach they take to personal improvement.

"Opportunities like this enhance the great work they do at home in Huntington. It helps them put their talent in perspective and motivates them to reach for the next level."
