Drivers sought for Red Cross veterans' transport

The Huntington County Chapter of the American Red Cross is in need of volunteers for its veterans program.

The Red Cross provides daily transportation services, free of charge, for veterans to their medical appointments in Fort Wayne, Marion and Indianapolis.

The service is provided only when there are sufficient volunteer drivers to donate their time to drive.

All vehicles are provided by the Red Cross, along with fuel expenses.

The need is increasing since the addition of a new van that provides assistance with wheelchair bound veterans.
