Huntington North DECA students qualify for state contest

The Huntington North DECA Club participated in the district competition at Fort Wayne Snider High School on Saturday, Jan. 19.

The students competed in a role play situation as well as a written test in their particular field.
Two teams earned first place awards - Chad Wingo and Andrew Sizemore in the financial services category, and Kole Hale and Luke Doughty in the marketing communications category.

Lauren Dass and Drew Schnitz teamed up for a second place finish in travel and tourism.

The duo of Abby Blocker and Brooke Lengerich also placed second in hospitality services.

Conner Kreider and Gabe Hess secured a fourth place spot in sports and entertainment.

Leah Ness and Taylor Bailey finished sixth in hospitality services.

All of the students are now qualified for the state competition to be held in Indianapolis March 3 to 5.
