Acting it out

Photo provided.

Riley Swihart, a fifth-grader at Roanoke Elementary School, reads the book "Knuffle Bunny" - a story that involves a trip to a laundromat - to classmates, standing next to a washing machine made out of a cardboard box. The session was part of the fifth grade "Book of the Month" project. In December, each fifth-grader chose a picture book to read to their classmates as well as to younger students. The students either dressed like a character from the story or bring in props to go along with the story.
