HU Foundation to honor military at Nov. 7 meeting

The Huntington University Foundation will honor past and present members of the United States military during its Nov. 7 breakfast.

Col. David Augustine, commander of the 122nd Fighter Wing of the Indiana Air National Guard in Fort Wayne, will give an update on the status of the base and explain how it serves the community. The 122nd Fighter Wing provides support in national and state emergencies and offers educational opportunities in the area.

Rodney Funk, Indiana state commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, will welcome all veterans. As state commander, the Huntington County residents oversees 168 VFW posts in Indiana.

All past and present service members will be provided with a free breakfast. Reservations are required and may be made by contacting Barb Baker at 359-4069 or bbaker@hunt ington.edu.

The foundation breakfast is open to the public. It will begin at 7:45 a.m. in the Habecker Dining Commons at Huntington University and will conclude by 9 a.m. First-time attendees eat free courtesy of Bailey-Love Mortuary.
