The Huntington Parks and Recreation Department will hold its ninth annual Great Pumpkin Hunt at Hier's Park on Tuesday, Oct. 23.
The evening will begin at 7 p.m. with a coloring contest and costume contest inside Heritage Hall.
The search for the Great Pumpkin begins at 7:30 p.m., with children invited to search the park in the dark for candy-filled orange and black eggs. Children need to bring a bag and a flashlight.
One Great Pumpkin prize - a bicycle - will be awarded in each of three age groups: 3 and younger, 4-7 and 8 and older. Some eggs will also contain other prizes from local restaurants and Halloween goodies.
In case of rain, the hunt will be held on Thursday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m.
