BB's Fastfood Delivery, which delivers fast food or food from any restaurant to one's door, is open for business.

Owner Brian Bell, of Huntington, says he was inspired by a similar business in Fort Wayne.

"In Fort Wayne, they've got Waiter on the Way," he says. "I was like, ‘Maybe (I should) start something here in Huntington.' I just kept my mind to it and got stuff done and it's happening now."

When Bell receives a call, he goes to the desired restaurant, orders and pays for the food, then delivers the food to the caller. The transaction concludes when Bell gives the caller a receipt from the restaurant and is paid for the cost of the food and his delivery fee.

There is a fixed fee for delivery within Huntington city limits; beyond city limits, a per-mile fee is assessed on top of his usual rate. Bell says that callers within Huntington city limits can expect their food to arrive in 30 minutes or less.

Bell used his moped to deliver food in the summer and now uses his car, due to the colder weather. He is permitted and certified by the health department and uses a cooler and an insulated bag to ensure that food remains at its proper temperature.

To place an order, call 355-9466. The hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Bell says that he has plans to extend his hours in the future to include lunch and weekends.
