Pancake breakfast at HCOB

Huntington Church of the Brethren will have an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast on Saturday, May 6, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

A free will donation will be accepted for the meal, which is open to the public.

The church is at 306 E. Washington St., Huntington.

Andrews Summer Festival to have fund-raiser on April 29

The Andrews Summer Festival will have a chicken and noodle/beef and noodle dinner fund-raiser on Saturday, April 29, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Andrews Fire Station.

The menu includes chicken and noodles and/or beef and noodles, mashed potatoes, a vegetable, dinner roll, dessert and drink.

There is a cost for the meal. All proceeds go to the Andrews Summer Festival.

Biblical Alliance to host ex-missionary

The Biblical Alliance for Truth will host Gina Krause, former missionary to Africa, on Monday, April 24, at 7 p.m. at Christ the King Episcopal Church.

She will discuss the disappearance of her husband, pilot Jerry Krause, four years ago.

Gina will speak about the work she and her husband were doing in Africa at that time, why he was captured and why he is still being held. A question and answer period will follow.

Christ the King Church is at 1224 N. Jefferson St., Huntington.

Classes go into kitchen

Hand-made noodles and breakfast in a mug are on tap during the DIY@HCTPL series in May at the Huntington Branch of the Huntington City-Township Public Library.

The noodle making workshop for adults will be held on May 6 at 10 a.m. and will feature three methods of making noodles — using a mixer with a pasta attachment, using a pasta roller with a cutting bar and using a rolling pin and hand cutter. Participants should wear old clothes or an apron. The program is free, but registration is required.

Huntington Heating and Cooling earns award from WaterFurnace International

Huntington Heating and Cooling, in Huntington, has received the Top Sales Club award from WaterFurnace International Inc., a manufacturer of geothermal and water source heat pumps.

The awards were presented during Water Furnace’s annual sales meeting, held March 12 and 13, in Denver, CO, by WaterFurnace President and CEO John Thomas, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Michael Albertson, Vice President of Residential Sales Sean Dillon and Director of Dealer Sales Bret Ross.

De-Stress Night at local library set for May 4

Students from Huntington University and other adults feeling stress are invited to a De-Stress Night at the Huntington Branch of the Huntington City-Township Public Library on May 4.

From 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the library will provide soothing music and lights, as well as calming activities such as adult coloring, stretches, breathing exercises and more. Visitors can come for all or part of the evening.

The program is free and is open to adults only.

Library staff, Acres guide to lead community hike at Tel-Hy ground

The staff of the Huntington City-Township Public Library, along with an Acres Land Trust hiker guide, will lead a community hike at Tel-Hy Nature Preserve, in Huntington, on May 12.

Guides will discuss the history and other information about the preserve.

The hike starts at 6 p.m and is open to people of all ages who can comfortably walk. Participants should meet at Tel-Hy, 1429N-300W. The hike is free and there is no rain date.

Citizens clean up litter

The family plans on recycling the refuse and making community service a yearly tradition.
