Hall bringing ‘Body Safety’ talk to county students for eighth year
Thursday, February 21, 2013 7:47 AM
Sgt. Terry Hall will once again bring his "Body Safety" talk to Huntington County students.
A community meeting will be held on Monday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m. at Horace Mann Education Center's library. The meeting is open to all parents and concerned citizens who want to learn more about how to keep children safe.
Hall will be at Roanoke Elementary School on Tuesday, Feb. 26, in the morning and will visit Northwest Elementary School that afternoon. He will travel to Salamonie on Wednesday, Feb. 27, and will travel to Lancaster Elementary School in the afternoon to complete this year's presentations.
Hall is an expert in child safety, with more than 35 years of experience. He is retired from the Indianapolis Police Department.
Hall has traveled throughout the United States and abroad to give children and young people the information needed in order for them to be empowered with their own safety.
This is the eighth year that the program has been offered in Huntington County. The Child Protection Team, in partnership with the Huntington County Community School Corporation, Department of Child Services and the Youth Services Bureau first brought Hall to Huntington County in 2006.
The program has been funded by the Ecolab Foundation for the past six years. In addition to the Department of Child Services, Child Protection team, HCCSC and the Youth Services Bureau the other partners include the Indiana State Police, Huntington County Sheriff's Department, Huntington Police Department, prosecutor's office, probation department and town marshals.
