Archaeologist to give lunchtime presentation

Dr. Michael Press, an archaeologist specializing in ancient Israel, will give a brown bag lunch presentation on archaeological excavations in the ancient Philistine city of Ashkelon on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at noon in the Habecker Dining Commons at Huntington University.
The talk is open to the public.
Prior to the lunch presentation, Press will speak to Dr. Mark Fairchild's biblical archaeology class at HU.
Press is affiliated with the Center for Advanced Spatial Technologies at the University of Arkansas. He has been involved with excavations at Ashkelon, a city on the Mediterranean coast of Israel, since 1996.
Press recently published his Harvard dissertation, "Ashkelon 4: The Iron Age Figurines of Ashkelon and Philistia."
The presentation is sponsored by the Center for Non-Western Studies at Huntington University.
