Middaugh’s to offer restoration work at shop
ANDRÉ B. LAIRD - Sunday, February 3, 2013 10:37 AM
Three generations of the Middaugh family have teamed up to form Middaugh's Collision & Auto Repair, in Huntington.
Patriarch and owner Dick Middaugh says the family has extensive experience and a great reputation in the auto industry locally.
"We used to own an auto shop on Ind.-114," he states. "My son Rick starting working with me when he was about 14 years old after school."
Grandson Nick Middaugh recently completed a four-year enlistment with the United States Marines and joined the family business, Middaugh adds.
"Altogether, we have about 60 years of experience in the auto industry," he says.
He adds that the shop, which opened for business on Thursday, Jan. 31, specializes in complete body work and paint and general repairs and maintenance.
"We also do total restoration work on almost anything vintage," Middaugh states. "We do cars, gas pumps, bicycles, whatever."
Although the shop has only three employees, Rick Middaugh says there are plans in the future to expand.
"We want to offer good, old fashioned personal service at a fair price," he adds. "We are old school here."
Hours of operation for the shop are Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, from 8 a.m. to noon.
Dick Middaugh notes that not many auto repair shops are open on Saturday, and that he hopes to offer this option to people who are unable to come on weekdays.
"We just look forward to serving the community of Huntington with good service," he adds.
Middaugh's Collision & Auto Repair is located at 755 S. Briant St., Huntington.
